Privacy

johanvillalba.com is a personal site. I collect little data, and only when it is needed to render the site, remember your language, or handle a request you submit. I do not sell lists, I do not run third-party ads off your profile, and I do not treat forms as a mass-marketing CRM.

What stays in your browser

The site sets a pref-lang cookie (SameSite=Lax, one year) to remember the language you chose (es, en, or pt). Light or dark theme is stored in localStorage under the key theme. That does not identify a person by name. You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser; the next visit falls back to defaults.

Fonts are requested from Google Fonts (Inter Tight) and from Astro's font API (Geist). Loading the page therefore opens a connection to those servers. Hosting runs on Vercel. Requests go through their network and may produce technical logs (IP, user-agent, path) under their platform policy.

Forms and databases

If you register for a workshop, request a Demo Day seat, or apply to the Whisp beta, the form sends your name, email, and the answers in that flow to Supabase. Those fields are used only to review the request, confirm a seat, or write to you about that same activity. Submitting a form does not subscribe you to an automatic newsletter. Each form's consent line states that use at submit time.

The GitHub contribution grid on the home page, when visible, queries the GitHub API with a server token for the public user johanvillalbab. That call does not send your data. The /admin panel is password-protected and is not a visitor-facing product.

Your rights and how to ask for changes

You can ask for access, correction, or deletion of data you submitted in a form. There is no public email on this site; the channel for that request is LinkedIn (Johan Villalba) or the same thread I used after a workshop or Demo Day. Include the email you used on the form so the record can be found.

This page describes the site as it is built today (Astro on Vercel, Supabase for requests, language cookie, local theme). If the stack changes in a material way, I will update this text. It is not legal advice: it is the operational description of a personal site with a few targeted forms.
